200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program

Savitri Atma Kaur, E-RYT 500, KRYT 200, YACEP
Savitri is a passionate yoga teacher and serves as the yoga teacher training program facilitator at Yoga East. She has been teaching yoga, meditation, and breathwork for over a decade. Her teachings emphasize traditional energic technologies and the ancient science of yoga.
Robin Drury, E-RYT 500
Robin received her 200 Hour RYT from YogaFit and her continuing education is in yoga therapy. Robin teaches the Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga modules in the program. Robin also assists with technique training and student observations.
Sara McNeil, E-RYT 200, RYT 500, YACEP, Reiki Master
Sara received her trainging at Yoga East and now teaches the Yoga Humanities portion of the 200 Hour program and assists in teaching Subtle Body and Restorative Yoga.
About Our Program
The Yoga East Healing Arts 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program blends the ancient philosophy of yoga science with the art of teacahing yoga as a contemporary transformational practice of self care and health and wellness.​ This program explores Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, and Restorative Yoga.
Our program is approved by Yoga Alliance and meets their standards for certification. However, teacher certification is no longer the only option in our program. We now offer the "Deeper" track to those who wish to deepen their practice and understanding of the yoga tradition without the requirements aligned with becoming a teacher.

Program Format: The program begins each January and follows a flexible schedule which will include a combination of weeknights and weekends for 6 months. 4 Studio Classes per month are included in the price of the program and are required as part of the program contact hours. Previously, all who completed our program became certified yoga teachers. We are now offering two overlapping tracks: the "Teacher" track and the "Deeper" track.

Course Costs: This fee covers the cost of the program, 4 studio classes per month, a comprehensive manual, and the Asana textbook. The purchase of supplemental books may be required at an additional cost.
"Teacher" Track - $2,350.00*
"Deeper" Track - $1,850.00*
*A non-refundable deposit of $600 is due at the time of registration and will be put towards the total fee.
Curriculum
Techniques Training/Practice
75 contact hours
Includes asanas, pranayama, subtle body, and meditation.
Professional Essentials
50 contact hours
Includes principles of demonstration, observation, assisting, instruction, teaching styles, and the business of yoga.
Anatomy and Physiology
30 contact hours
Includes human physical anatomy and physiology taught through both practical and experiential methods. Includes biomechanics, contraindications, healthy movement patterns, etc.
Yoga Humanities
30 contact hours
Includes the history of yoga, the Hatha Yoga tradition, yoga philosophy, lifestyle, and ethics for yoga teachers.
Practicum
10 contact hours
Includes practice teaching, giving and receiving feedback, and assisting students while others teach.
Elective Hours
12 contact hours
Includes the options of studying Ayurveda and/or Yoga and Sound

"Deeper" Track Details
The "Deeper" track elimintaes teaching modalities and practice teaching. The remainder of the 200 hours will be filled with a selection of supplementary assignments to fit the individual goals of the student.

To be considered for the Yoga East Healing Arts Registered Yoga School, you must have at least 6 months of regular yoga practice, one reference, and a completed registration form, which you can access by clicking the button below. Once these prerequisites have been met, our prgram director will contact you to make your $600 deposit and reserve your space. We begin taking deposits the November prior to the program start.
