Yoga East is a Healing Arts Studio. We offer the teachings of Hatha yoga as a holistic practice for mind / body integration and health and wellness. Our teachers at Yoga East are passionate about teaching yoga and meditation to our community here in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. We teach private yoga sessions with an individual approach to meet your wellness goals as well as ongoing group classes. Our group yoga classes are designed to meet all our students needs. Special Summer Session: Primal OM
This one hour yoga/mix class will address multiple components of fitness, as well as challenge your brain with coordination and agility.
It combines free-body, primal-based functional strength and range of motion exercises, lubricating joints, strengthening muscles and core, while elevating the heart rate and creating tapas or internal heat for yoga asanas that follow. Six week series June 15th – July 20th. Thursday 4:15 -5-15 with ReBeca Drury.
GROUP YOGA CLASSES
Gentle Yoga: Slower paced class. Recommended for anyone recovering from injury or illness, seniors or those who want a slower paced class with more emphasis on joint flexibilty, gentle strengthening, breathing and relaxation. If you have been sedentary and want to start an exercise program this is a great class to get you moving again and back in the flow of life! energy intensity level 1
Yoga Basics: Emphasis on holistic mind/body approach of basic yoga postures with modifications and props for a safe and supported practice. This class focus is on both postural and energetic alinement and coordinating breath with movement. For beginners and continuing beginners. energy intensity Level 2
Heated Hatha Flow: Detox mind body through this flowing sequence of standing poses, balancing poses, hip and shoulder openers in a heated room. Our room temp averages 90 degrees. Not suitable for those with heart disease, high blood pressure or pregnant women. Students should be familiar with basic yoga poses. energy/intensity level 3-4
Slow Fusion Flow : Perfect balance between strengthening and stretching. 50 % Sunflow Vinyasa and 50% slow deep stretch. energy intesity level 2-3
Yoga Flow: Yoga class to increase strength and flexibility. Class includes more challenging variations of yoga postures, backbends, inversions, breathing exercises, relaxation and or meditation. energy intensity Level 3
Slow Flow Yin Yoga: Series of deep stretch seated and floor postures that target connective tissues and myofascial release. energy intesity level 2
